The Lenck Villa is one of Sopron's finest examples of historic villa architecture. Built in 1892 in a distinctive Neoclassical-Eclectic style, it was commissioned by the wealthy Lenck family, renowned wine merchants of the region, and designed by the Sopron-born Viennese architect Otto Hofer.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the villa was home to a distinguished resident—the Danish Crown Prince, who later became King Frederick VIII of Denmark. Today, the beautifully restored villa offers visitors a fascinating insight into the lifestyle and elegance of Sopron's prosperous bourgeois society.
